With the introduction of Sony’s brand new PlayStation Collections today, the company hopes to take advantage of some of its most serially successful exclusives.
The idea is simple, and its title is pretty self-explanatory; Starting with the Infamous and God of War series, Sony will be combining some of its exclusive lines of titles into collections, offering each up for one (relatively) low price. Here’s how the collections of those two series break down:
God of War Saga – $39.99
- God of War
- God of War II
- God of War III
- God of War: Origins Collection (includes downloadable vouchers for God of War: Chains of Olympus and God of War: Ghost of Sparta)
- Exclusive Bonus Content
- Voucher For 1 Trial Month of PlayStation Plus
- All games are remastered in HD, formatted for DUALSHOCK Control, and include full Trophy support. (Origins Collection includes 3D support.)
Infamous Collection – $39.99
- inFAMOUS
- inFAMOUS 2
- inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood
- Extra missions
- Additional content including costumes, power-ups, and weapon styles.
These two series will join the Ratchet and Clank Collection (now a PlayStation Collection title), releasing on August 28. That set of games looks like this:
Ratchet & Clank Collection – $29.99
- Ratchet & Clank
- Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando
- Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal
- Remastered in HD 3D, with full Trophy support
- Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time demo
Starting on August 28, these PlayStation lineages will be available in the above-listed collection forms at select retail stores. Players will also be able to buy various titles in the collections in an al a carte format through the PlayStation Store, allowing those who already own some of the titles to purchase only the ones they don’t have.
Regarding their PlayStation Collections, Sony has also promised “additional news in the coming weeks,” which could consist of future Collections titles. Chances are we’ll be hearing something from them at Gamescom next week, though no one has admitted so yet.
