Rocksmith Adding Bass Support on August 14

So you’ve mastered the electric guitar on Rocksmith. Good for you. Are you ready for the next challenge?

The Rocksmith Bass Expansion DLC will hit PSN and XBLA on August 14, giving bassists a chance to join the band. Like in the original game, the Bass Expansion lets players plug their real basses into their PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 to play along with real songs and learn the tricks of the trade.

The Bass Expansion comes full bass support for all 53 of the original Rocksmith songs, along with support for all previous downloadable songs, as well, allowing players to continue rocking on their hard-earned libraries. This expansion also adds bass technique challenges, mini-games, and tutorial videos to help bassists of any experience level “improve their skills like 2-finger plucking, slapping, and popping,” according to a press release from Ubisoft.

The Rocksmith Bass Expansion DLC will cost you $30, which is a lot cheaper than real bass lessons.
