In a rather surprise announcement, 2K Sports has announced that Jay Z has been working on NBA 2K13 as an executive producer. Jay Z is a part owner of the Brooklyn Nets, and has been providing feedback on the music, menus, and the overall look and feel of the game.
While we haven’t seen much of NBA 2K13 to this point, it’s become almost a tradition for 2K Sports to keep the game under wraps until fairly close to launch. Announcing the collaboration with Jay Z should ultimately be the beginning of the media onslaught that should begin later this month for the upcoming basketball title.
“We aren’t content with just being the best, and we will continue to grow the NBA 2K franchise into one of today’s premier entertainment experiences,” said Jason Argent, vice president of marketing for 2K Sports. “JAY Z’s role in NBA 2K13 represents a unique fusion of basketball, music, art, and entertainment, and illustrates the evolution of NBA 2K into something much bigger than simply the best basketball video game series ever made.”
In addition to announcing the partnership with Jay Z, 2K Sports has also unveiled the full track listing for the title. We’ve listed each of the songs below:
