In many ways, 2012 has been led by downloadable games. Minecraft on XBLA and Trials Evolution cleaned up early on, but now it’s Tony Hawk and his new HD look that are raking in the dough.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD, the first entry into this year’s Summer of Arcade Promotion, moved 120,000 units in week one. Developer Robomodo broke the news to Gamasutra, as well as stating that sales have been “consistent” since the game first launched. Not too bad for a franchise once thought too tired to continue.
This HD update will be hitting PSN in August and PC at a later date, but for now, check out our review of the XBLA version.
