The bigger the game, the better the chance that all of its DLC will be packed into what many are now calling a “Season Pass.” That seems to be the current trend, and according to a letter forwarded by Kotaku, Ubisoft will be following this model when the highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed 3 releases later this year.
There’s plenty of content that goes into each year’s Assassin game, so it takes quite a few talented developers to bring it all together. The third iteration seems to be the team’s biggest undertaking and with such ambitious DLC plans, reinforcements were needed.
“What’s next? We are currently in the process of creating a complementary development team that will begin working on post-launch episodic content to continue the Game of the Year experience that Assassin’s Creed 3 will undoubtedly deliver.”
Directed at Gamestop, the letter goes on to actually use the term “Season Pass” in reference to future plans.
“We’d love your continued assistance in informing pre-order customers that a better value is available for those who pre-order Assassin’s Creed with the ‘Season Pass.'”
None of this has actually been confirmed by either Ubisoft or Gamestop yet, but what we have now is pretty convincing. With so much hype behind the title after this year’s E3, it’s not exactly a stretched to assume there will be a good amount of support behind it.
