There are few fans more passionate than those of the Persona franchise, and in just a few weeks they’ll be able to sink their teeth into the latest chapter of the academic adventure. This time, though, it won’t be about character stats and choosing the correct attack each turn. Persona 4: Arena is a fighting game that’s currently lighting up the Japanese arcade world, and a true departure for the series.
Arena takes place just two months after the end of Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4, and will include a cast of characters from both that title and the third entry in the franchise. A tournament dubbed the “P-1 Grand Prix” is what drives each of these personalities to duke it out in order to find out who’s the best, and while there’s a single narrative driving it all, every character will also have their own individual storyline.
