Meanwhile, at Comic-Con…
Yesterday the rumor mill started its churn cycle with allegations that Metal Gear Solid series director Hideo Kojima was holding private demo screenings of the early stages of Metal Gear Solid 5. Few would have believed the rumor had it not been supported by the following photo of what appeared to be the game’s logo:
Upon hearing the news of his new game apparently being shown off at Comic-Con (by his own hand, no less) Kojima took to Twitter (with a link to TwitLonger), assuring his followers that the title screen “is completely FAKE.” Kojima went on to say, “I apologize to those who were looking forward. Anyway it proved I can still create the buzz.”
As though Hideo Kojima has anything to apologize for.
Last month, Kojima did speak with the France-based IG Magazine, dropping a few hints about the game’s existence and what it might be like. That interview is now out for public consumption and can be seen, in English, here.
