The Last of Us, Sony and Naughty Dog’s blockbuster survival game that won a slew of awards at last week’s E3, received the demo treatment last night on Jimmy Fallon. Everything about the game still looked fantastic, as the gameplay shown was just the same sequence first displayed at the Sony press conference, but the big news came in the form of a release timing announcement.
No matter how much we all want to get our grubby little hands on the next game from the Uncharted team, Game Director Bruce Straley and Creative Director Neil Druckmann revealed that The Last of Us won’t be ready until 2013. This was expected with such a hush over the game’s date during E3, but it’s still disappointing to know we’ll have to wait over six more months before playing through Joel and Ellie’s story.
