The first true surprise of E3 2012 came in the form of Watch Dogs; a brand new Ubisoft title that promises to “revolutionize the way players interact with each other.”
The extended demo showed off the game’s hacking and computer control mechanics. While protagonist Aiden Pierce seems to know a thing or two about guns and hand-to-hand combat, using data transfer and the nation’s dependence on computers as a weapon are what will help separate Watch Dogs from this shooter-heavy market. Cell phone jamming and control of vehicles are just a few ways Pierce can disrupt technology.

A QR code within the demo leads to this website, which is related to the in-game club: dotconnexion.ubi.com. Turn up your volume and give the message a listen, if you’re interested.
The game has been in development for two years, and while the fidelity and graphically brilliance displayed almost looked to belong to a future generation, the demo was being played on a PlayStation 3. No date or platform has been announced.
