A new, violent trailer for the highly anticipated Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance has been unleashed as part of Konami’s pre-E3 showing.
Raiden’s not exactly in a happy place, and instead of talking it out with a professional, the below video highlights just a few ways that the cyber warrior hacks and slashes his enemies to bits. A ‘Ninja Run’ ability is also displayed, allowing him to dash up and over objects in the background.
It all looks slick and cinematic, but unlike all of the cool instances we’ve seen from Raiden in the past, players will actually be in control of the character during the unrelenting action sequences.
“Within the Metal Gear series, Raiden has always been this really cool character with incredible action scenes,” said Yuji Korekado, creative producer at Kojima Studio. “Unfortunately, these scenes were always cutscenes that users werent’t able to control.”
This time around, it’s up to the person holding the controller to make everything look flashy. With Platinum Games behind the wheel, though, that shouldn’t be too difficult a task.

Sadly, we won’t be able to get our hands on the title until the newly revealed projection of early 2013. The game will be playable on the floor at E3, so expect coverage from the StickSkills team next week.
