EA SPORTS has been holding a fan-vote tournament to determine the cover athlete for NHL ’13 (scheduled for a September 11, 2012 release) and the final two are officially determined. Much like the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Philadelphia Flyers’ representative Claude Giroux was able to defeat Evgeni Malkin of the Pittsburgh Penguins. On the Western Conference side, Nashville Predators goalie Pekka Rinne was able to put a stop to the unlikely run of John Tavares (Forward, New York Islanders.)
Voting for the Finals runs between today, May 29th, to June 4th for what is presumably a cover reveal just in time for E3. As a Flyers fan myself, I’ll be voting around the clock for Claude Giroux in hopes he can be the first Flyer to hold an EA NHL cover since Eric Lindros (NHL 99.) It is anyone’s game though, so be sure to cast your vote via the official EA SPORTS NHL 13 Cover Vote website!
