When it comes to video games, especially Call of Duty, gamers seem to absolutely love special or collector’s editions. We’ve seen RC cars, night vision goggles, and a more modest special edition with the launch of Modern Warfare 3. After Black Ops 2 was properly unveiled and the pre-orders are starting to fly in, gamers have started to wonder what would be included in a special edition.
A little over a year ago, we received a great tip on the existence of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City from one of our members. That same member has posted a rumor in our forums that appears to detail what will be included in the Black Ops 2 collector’s editions.
Apparently Activision and Treyarch are working on finalizing a special edition package containing a quadrotor! Whether or not it will be a working model or just a replica is still a little foggy, also we still don’t know whether it will hold the coveted lable of “Prestige Edition” but it is for sure that it’s not gonna be cheap. Word is that the two companies are working towards finalizing the price right around the $200 mark, so start counting those beans now!
Tricko posted more information in the forums as well, but the most intriguing part is definitely the mention of a replica RC quadrotor. With Black Ops 2 already receiving so much attention and no little to no information has been revealed on the multiplayer, this seems to be a great choice for a special edition bonus. While the details are intriguing, we’re filing this under “rumor”. We would expect Activision to make some sort of an announcement during E3, however.
