If even a tiny bit of you has been a Call of Duty fan at some point in your life, it’s nearly impossible for you to see that you don’t know who Robert “FourZeroTwo” Bowling is.
Bowling has been the face of Infinity Ward for quite a few years now. From answering questions about the game on social media channels to having a blog that people flocked to for Call of Duty news, Bowling has been an important figure for the series and for video games.
In a rather surprise announcement, Robert Bowling announced last night via Twitter that he was leaving Infinity Ward. While he didn’t go into specifics in the tweet, he simply stated, “Today, I resign from my position as Creative Strategist of Call of Duty, as a lead of Infinity Ward, and as an employee of Activision”.
No additional tweets for Bowling mentioned or hinted at where he may look to pursue his next job, but he’ll be a wanted talent for sure. Any company that lands Bowling will definitely bring in a great community manager as well as his fans from his previous titles. He did mention that he’ll be sharing the details of his “next adventure” via Twitter soon, however.
