Unreal Tournament is crazy. We don’t mean that in a bad way, promise. If you’ve never quite experienced the joy of Unreal Tournament, we thoroughly recommend picking up a copy for cheap and playing.
The series received its last entry in 2007, and it didn’t really blow up the sales charts. The Playstation 3 version had the ability to use mods, however, and had most gamers picking it up there instead of the Xbox 360.
Now that your history lesson is over, we’re heading to the actual news for today. Thanks to a tweet by Cliff Bleszinski, it appears that an Unreal Tournament announcement is on the horizon.
Bleszinski tweeted, “Do *you* like Unreal Tournament? http://on.fb.me/yONoh0 Wonder what could happen someday if there was enough interest.“. Clicking on the Facebook link takes you to a blank page for “Unreal Tournament” where a few hundred fans have already liked the page.
There’s no set number that the team at Epic Games has referenced, but it appears that a new Unreal Tournament game could be announced after hitting a certain mark. If you haven’t done so already, be sure to like the page to help further the announcement along.
What do you think about the possibility of another Unreal Tournament title being announced? What would you want to see in a new Unreal Tournament game? Be sure to let us know what you think by leaving us a comment below, or discuss Unreal Tournament in our forums.
UPDATE: A representative from Epic Games has reached out to us to inform that they are not planning to announce a new Unreal Tournament title. Even though a new game won’t be announced, you should still show your support and like the page!
