The internet went into a bit of a frenzy this morning over a “leaked” Black Ops 2 beta menu video that surfaced. While parts of the video may seem convincing, we’re here to tell you why the video is 100% fake.
The “leaked” menu stated that there was a “Zombie Campaign”. While it’s highly believable that there may be a Zombie Campaign, the video showcases a few things that don’t quite make sense.
One of the most notable issues with the video is the font that is being used. Looking at the text for the menu options, it’s not even close to what it typically used for Call of Duty games. There’s also a “feedback” option which doesn’t actually make much sense. When companies are doing internal betas, they don’t have feedback inputted directly into the game. The feedback is completed via workstations setup with the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 system the individual is working on. If the argument is brought up that this is an external beta, Activision doesn’t have a history of doing these either.
Glancing at the face buttons on the bottom you’ll also notice that they’re incredibly too large. Looking at the Call of Duty series, the buttons have never been nearly that large in any of their menus.
Using the information we’ve compiled above, the “leaked” beta menu definitely appears to be fake. What do you think about the supposed Black Ops 2 menu? Be sure to let us know what you think by leaving us a comment below, or discuss Black Ops 2 in our forums.
