If you had rather high hopes to see a beta for the upcoming Halo 4, then we hate to be the bearer of bad news. In the most recent Halo Bulletin, it was revealed via the Community Q&A questions that Halo 4 will not feature a multiplayer beta.
You can return from crying, because we do happen to have rather good news for you still! While there will not be a beta for Halo 4, 343 Industries is still working rather hard to keep Halo 4 on track for a 2012 release.
“While we are testing Halo 4 code, gameplay, and systems at significant scale to get excellent data, input, and feedback, we are focused on polishing and shipping our experience for the duration of the year, and splitting resources to manage and build a beta is not on our schedule.”
When a community member asked when the game would be released, 343 Industries stated that, “In precisely 2012. The actual ship date (and other details) will be rolled out in the not-too-crazy-distant future.”
It’s great to hear that the game is still on track to launch in 2012, but somewhat sad to hear that there won’t be a beta for Halo 4. This should help put the fake Halo 4 beta scams to rest that have popped up online.
What do you think about the 2012 release date and no beta for Halo 4? Have you pre-ordered your copy yet? Be sure to let us know what you think by leaving us a comment below, or discuss Halo 4 in our forums.
