Assassin’s Creed 3 was first announced a few weeks ago, and then Ubisoft revealed today that a “major” announcement was in the cards. Well, unfortunately for Ubisoft, the internet decided that their “major” announcement would be revealed a few days earlier.
Kotaku received an image tonight from a Best Buy employee that showcases art for the game. The image shows a Native American with a bow and arrow, tomahawk, and the original Continental flag behind him. The character, who is assumed to be the new main character, features a good amount of blood on his 18th century Colonial jacket.
Ubisoft is said to be working on unveiling this information plus pre-order bonuses for the title officially on March 5th. Since a Best Buy employee was the one who sent the image through, we’re assuming that the company will receive a rather favorable pre-order bonus.
With how the Assassin’s Creed series works, we’d expect the character to be somehow related to Desmond. A half-Native American hero? We wouldn’t be surprised if it’s confirmed in the next few weeks.
What do you think about Assassin’s Creed III taking place in what appears to be the American Revolution? Are you happy with the direction that Ubisoft is taking the latest entry in the series?
