There’s a lot of reason to be excited for the upcoming NBA offering from EA SPORTS launching later this year. We recently put together out top five wants out of the title, but competition in the basketball simulation market is definitely a good thing.
There’s been a lot of debate around the name of the upcoming title, as most think that neither NBA Live or NBA Elite will surface as the official name. Elite was the first sports title by the company to be cancelled and NBA Live seemed to have the end of its “era” when Elite was announced.
Thanks to a tweet by Kyrie Irving, it appears that the name of the upcoming NBA title from EA SPORTS will in fact be NBA Live 13. EA SPORTS, according to that tweet, is hosting a few different athletes and allowing them to see their upcoming NBA title.
We’re glad to see the name return to NBA Live as the series was definitely making the right strides in the NBA simulation market. Elite was an interesting experiment, but it’d be near impossible for EA SPORTS to continue with that name considering the black cloud that surrounds it.
What do you think about EA SPORTS returning to the NBA Live name for their upcoming title? Do you think they should have chosen a different name? Be sure to let us know what you think by leaving us a comment below, or discuss NBA Live 13 in our forums.
