If you’ve been enjoying Metal Gear Online for your Playstation 3 the past four years, your enjoyment is coming to an end. Konami has announced today that they’ll be closing Metal Gear Online 2.00 this June.
Metal Gear Online will officially be closing on the 21st of June. All character creation in the Metal Gear Online Shop will stop in April, and then three new DLC packs will be released. These downloadable content packs will be available for free for everyone until the game shuts its servers off for good.
While it’s always sad to see the severs shut down for any game, the game hasn’t been the most popular online. It’s rather difficult to find a match in the game and it’s mostly a ghost town at this point.
What do you think about Metal Gear Online having its servers shut down in June? Are you planning on playing it a few more times before it’s officially done? Be sure to let us know what you think by leaving us a comment below, or discuss Metal Gear Online in our forums.
