While this news should’t come as a surprise to anyone, during a recent financial call Activision has confirmed that a new Call of Duty title will be launching this year. Activision didn’t go into further detail on the call, just stating the fact that a Call of Duty title would be coming in 2012.
Rumors have circulated that the game being developed by Treyarch is Black Ops 2, while a fake website under “Ironwolf” surfaced a few weeks ago. Activision has mentioned that they feel the title is already impressive, and they have not yet nailed a date down for the announcement of the title.
Looking at the typical Activision timeline, you can more than likely expect the game to be announced within the next three months. Activision has made a very big deal of each of their Call of Duty titles at E3, and don’t expect them to do any different in 2012.
