MLB 12: The Show Cover Art Released

SCEA has officially released the cover art for the latest edition of their annual slugger MLB 12: The Show. Gracing said cover is Red Sox first baseman Adrian Gonzalez taking a swing (and by all accounts, about to connect) for the fences.

The four time MLB All-Star has 191 career HR and 1, 089 hits since his professional debut back in 2004 for the Texas Rangers. Below is the art itself, and it is what you will see in stores on March 6th when it releases for both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita:

I have to say, it looks pretty nice. I’m a big fan of the stylized seams opposed to last year’s actual baseball seams, as well as the ever-humble placement of a little bit of gloating (hint: it’s dead center.) Completely understandable though, as MLB: The Show truly does deliver a simulation unlike any other sports games. Many try, a few get close, but unless you report to spring training, this is about as close as you will get to being in the MLB.

Adrian Gonzalez is your MLB 12: The Show cover guy! Was he the right choice? Leave a comment below or let us know in our forums!
