To the general public, it would seem that THQ is on the upswing with a slew of great titles being launched in the past year. With more quality titles on the horizon such as Darksiders II, UFC Undisputed 3, Metro: The Last Light, South Park The Game and others, it’s hard to believe that THQ would be struggling.
Due to a slew of tweets coming from Kevin Dent, rumors are swirling quite quickly that THQ is trying to sell itself. The company has been rumored to cancel all of their 2014 titles, and focusing solely on the titles for this year and next year. The rumored reason behind it is to make the company desirable for a purchase for any potential buyers.
The rebranding that THQ put itself through was impressive, and all signs had seemed to point to the company doing better. The stock for the company has dropped to a severely low point, and things don’t appear to be getting much better for THQ. Current speculation has THQ attempting to sell itself to an Asian company, but no names have been named at this point.
What do you think about THQ currently struggling in the market and having to potentially sell itself? Do you feel that the rumor holds ground or do you feel that THQ is doing better than expected?
