With rumors circling for what seems to be months now, Sony has put the any chance of the Playstation 4 being announced at E3 2012 to rest. While it would have been great to see the potential for three consoles to be unveiled this year, we understand why Sony has put all the rumors to bed.
The Wii U is set to get a ton of attention, as we still really don’t know too much about the console. While the buzz is set to be high with Nintendo, Microsoft is also rumored to unveil their new system as well. With two potential console releases on the horizon, it makes little to no sense for Sony to try and squeeze theirs in.
If Sony can wait until the Tokyo Game Show, or possibly even E3 of next year, they’re poised to be on a much better platform for their audience. To unveil a system is a rather large deal, and we can applaud Sony for taking the proactive step to say that they will not be announcing the system or mentioning it at E3.
