Perhaps YouTube user Danzster read our Battlefield 3 sniper tips a while back, perhaps he’s just lucky, or perhaps he’s the second coming of Vasily Zaytsev. Whatever the case may be, he’s the latest sensation in the almost daily running of incredible Battlefield 3 moments.
Lying on a rooftop in Back to Karkand’s Gulf of Oman map, the gamer with the handle of “Rilenz” pops off an enemy’s melon from 1287.32 meters away. For anyone keeping score, that’s more than half the distance of the world’s longest known sniper kill, which stands at 2,475 meters courtesy of British Household Cavalry Corporal Craig Harrison.
What immediately stands out in the clip is that, in Battlefield 3, bullet drop is taken fully into account, and snipers are forced to arc their shots from a long range. So if this one-shot-wonder was truly one shot, then it would have to be one of the more impressive kills out there. It’s also possible though that he whiffed on 10 shots before this just to get the angle right, but we’ll let you be the judge.
