10. Gears of War 3 (360)
Release: TBA 2010
While the first installment of the Gears of War series was treasured by gamers on the Xbox 360, it's no secret that the second game in the series received "mixed" reviews on the multiplayer side. While the team at Epic was quick at delivering numerous patches, by the time the game was balanced correctly, the majority of fans have moved on.
If Gears of War even remotely holds a spot in your heart, don't give up. With rumors of five player co-op, and a laundry list of things that fans want to see changed, you can expect to see an announcement of Gears of War 3 at some point this year. Look for Gears of War 3 to right the wrongs of the second game, and have you tearing Locust into pieces with your chainsaw this holiday season.
9. Brink (PS3 | 360)
Release: September 2010
If you're a fan of shooters, but tired of the same generic shooters consistently hitting the market, then you'll want to check out Brink. Using a Mirror's Edge style running method, gamers can hold down the right bumper on their controller to scale objects and slide into cover.
While the SMART button sounds rather simplistic, you have to watch the video in the link above. Brink also features eight player cooperative play, and some crazy customization for your characters with unlockables being available as well. Brink is set to launch this Fall, and is one of the shooters that you have to have your eye on in 2010.
8. Alan Wake (360)
Release: TBA 2010
![]() Though Alan Wake has been "scheduled" to be released for quite some time, and even though it was on our countdown last year, this seems to be the year it finally gets released. The E3 video finally let gamers see a good bit of the title, and since then, more and more footage has come out as well.
The title is said to play out in an episodic style, with television style presentation. From the videos that have been all over the internet recently, it's shown that light will be Alan Wake's biggest weapon. Though all the video footage in the world is nice, we're just happy to see that Alan Wake is set to release this year. Xbox 360 owners get ready, you're in for a treat.
7. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (PS3 | 360)
Release: March 2010
![]() When EA & DICE released Battlefield: Bad Company, gamers were treated to an extremely refreshing singleplayer campaign, and addictive multiplayer. DICE successfully created a band of characters that were "not so traditional", but you just couldn't help but like.
The multiplayer in the original allowed gamers to blow holes in buildings, and take a more "up front" approach as to how they got their kills. Returning in all its glory is Bad Company 2, looking to capitalize on the fanbase it created with the first. Did we mention houses can now be fully taken down? Yeah, that's right. Whether it's by land, sea, or air, Bad Company 2 will be the shooter you can't put down in 2010.
6. Halo: Reach (360)
Release: Fall 2010
![]() If you build it, they will come. The Halo series is by far one of, if not the most popular multiplayer games on the planet. Through the balanced multiplayer, Firefight mode, and ridiculous amount of videos you can save from your games, it's no wonder that Halo always manages to stay at the top.
This Fall, you'll be getting your hands on Halo: Reach. With the newest iteration said to feature all of Halo 3's multiplayer features, and possibly upgrades to each, gamers can't help but be attracted. While the details are relatively scarce on Halo: Reach, it is however Halo, and we're sure that Microsoft will be pulling out the big guns.
There you have it, the top half of the ten most anticipated games of 2010! Continue reading onto the next page for the top five most anticipated.
