TOP 30 GAMES OF 2010: PART I![]() Posted by WhoIsDo on Dec 27, 2009 18:12 (77 days ago) |
The year 2009 was a solid one for gaming, but by no means extraordinary. Quite a few of the heavily looked forward to titles were pushed until next year, and most release windows were crowded with releases. A few disappointments, and titles that blew our minds, we have a lot to look forward to in 2010.
Starting today, we'll be detailing ten games a day that you should definitely have your eye on for 2010. Is this list subjective? It definitely is, just like any list, and we ask you to respect that. Without any further hesitation, here are the first ten games on our list of thirty.
30. EA Sports MMA (PS3 | 360)
Release: TBA 2010 ![]() EA Sports MMA could probably be holding a more important position on this countdown, but there just simply isn't enough information on it to justify such a position. From what we have seen on the title, we're impressed.
The game doesn't hold a UFC license, but still has managed to land quite a few big name fighters not wrapped up under UFC. Joining with Strikeforce, boasting incredible graphics, we can only hope that the gameplay and career mode are both deep enough to satisfy the fans of the sport.
29. Metro 2033 (360)
Release: March 2010
![]() If you've yet to see the first trailer for 2033, then you should probably watch it before you continue reading. Metro 2033 is set in a post-apocalyptic era, and is based on the popular novel by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky.
The first trailer, which was released back in October, easily showcases the survival horror feel the title hopes to achieve. Mixing the shooter and RPG genres as well, gamers take the role of Artyom, a man who's spent his entire life in these underground stations. Get ready to venture out into Moscow this March to take on mutants, and a title that could be a sleeper hit for 2010.
28. Dark Void (PS3 | 360)
Release: January 2010
![]() Dark Void has a jet pack. Seriously, I could stop description right there for a lot of users. Gamers assume the role of William Augustus Grey, who crashes in the Bermuda Triangle (Uh oh!).
With the help of Nikola Tesla, William Grey fights back against a group of aliens that was thought humanity had previously disposed of. The gamer will have the ability to switch between hover & jetpack modes while in flight, and having played the title at E3, it's extremely fun once you get the hang of it. Look out for Dark Void to hit on both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 this January.
27. Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)
Release: Summer 2010 ![]() Gran Turismo is a racing series that has captured the hearts of a ridiculous amount of gamers. With Gran Turismo 5 set to go live next year, or so we're made to believe, fans are incredibly eager to finally get their hands on the game after such a long wait.
Featuring almost one thousand cars and track variations pushing the total number of "unique" tracks to seventy. While the game has always been anticipated, we can't help but think fans have grown slightly tired of the constant pushing back of the launch. Even with the delays, if you own a Playstation 3 and enjoy racing games even the slightest, Gran Turismo 5 should be on your radar.
26. Medal of Honor (PS3 | 360)
Release: Fall 2010
![]() In the fall of 2010, Medal of Honor is set to get a much needed relaunch to the series. Taking place in modern-day Afghanistan, the game will follow a "Tier One Operator" working under the National Command Authority.
However, the game is being developed by two different studios this time around. EA Los Angeles will take care of the singleplayer, while DICE will handle the multiplayer portion of the title. If you've yet to check out the very first trailer from the title featuring actual gameplay footage, then check it out here. Get ready for the Fall of 2010, Medal of Honor is back.
