Responding to earlier claims that their prestigious college basketball game had been canceled due to breakdowns in the negotiations with The Collegiate Licensing Company, Take-Two, parent company of 2k Sports, broke the news officially with Kotaku:
"2K Sports has decided not to continue negotiations with the CLC for the license for its top-rated College Hoops franchise, which would have been released next in November 2008. We are committed to providing fans with high-quality, critically-acclaimed sports games, but given our disciplined approach to the business, we do not believe the current discussions would result in an acceptable outcome."

Many speculate that the breakdown in negotiations was caused by EA Sports stepping in. However, EA has had no comment on the subject. Here at Stick Skills, we can only hope that some form of a College Basketball game will be released.
