A few days back, I detailed what the special edition of Gears of War 2 was going to include.  News broke today that there’s going to be a "Super" special edition of Gears of War 2, and it’s going to include something that gamers have wanted for quite some time, a lancer.

That’s right, for around $130 bucks you too can own your own Gears of War lancer.  I have to admit, there have been some rather non-tempting offers in the past (tiny Master Chief helmet for Halo 3), but this one is probably going to entice quite a few consumers.

Gears of War 2 also received news that it would receive "linked achievements".  What exactly are "linked achievements" you may ask?  The examples that Cliff Bleszinski gave were the following:

- Complete Act One in Gears Of War, unlock a playable Anthony Carmine in Gears of War 2
- Find 10 COG tags in Gears Of War, unlock Minh Young Kim in Gears of War 2
- Kill Raam in Gears Of War, unlock a playable Raam in Gears of War 2

It’s going to end up being a brilliant strategy to get the group of gamers who haven’t completed the first game to do so, and it rewards the veterans of the series as well.
