Often had the urge to go back to the simpler times of gaming where all you wanted to do was blast away countless waves of enemies, build multipliers, and try to set the high score? Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 offers players just that, an Xbox 360 arcade game that gamers can purchase for 800 hundred Microsoft points.
WotB: Commando 3 allows offline single player action or LAN up to three players, Xbox Live with up to three other players, and the ability to keep track of your personal, friends, and global scores for each difficulty. Commando 3 offers several difficulties to test your aim and skills beginning at "cake walk" which is the easiest then "Routine Exercise" which would be considered normal difficulty, "Black Ops" which would be next, then finally "Suicide Mission" which would be the most difficult setting to play on.

Three characters are available to choose from in Wolf of the Battlefield and each have their own disadvantages and advantages which makes grouping up with friends very beneficial since one character may be able to take more damage than another while the weaker character may be able to hold more grenades and be able to move faster. Roy McMurray, code name Wolf, is first in the line up. The well rounded character whose health and grenade capacity are good though his speed suffers in exchange. Next is Antonio Ramirez Carranza code name Coyote and the Rambo-esque member who has the most health though lacks the grenade capacity and movement speed of Wolf. Last but not least is Fox whose top secret with a classified name, she’s the fastest of the three and has the least health but can carry more grenades than Wolf or Fox.
Controls for Commando 3 are simple and easy to learn, the left paddle is used for movement, the right paddle held in a direction to fire your weapon, the right trigger and bumper are used to toss grenades which can be aimed with the right paddle, and finally your M-Crash technique which has a limited number of uses and acts as a "destroy everything on the screen" attack is bound to the left trigger.

While players are busy running and gunning there will be an abundance of items on the map hidden in crates and some plain in view, all offering different capabilities from your standard health restoring med kits to more grenades. Other types of items in game that players will notice are several different types of firearm upgrades like machine gun burst, flamethrower, rocket launcher, and shot gun burst. To compliment your nice new shooting style there are also weapon power upgrades that enhance the rate of fire and the amount of bullets shot making battles easier and tougher enemies easier, they really help at some spots in the game where you’re taking on army by yourself and need some firepower but they are very rare to come upon. Other item drops seen in game are bronze, silver, and gold medals which give a boost to the players score, gold giving the biggest boost and bronze giving the least.
M-Crash boxes can also be found inside crates or laying on the ground which restores M-Crash uses, since players only have a limited amount of three or four. Probably the last important item to mention and the most difficult to find are score multipliers which appear as silver and gold shield like items with wolves on them, they possess the capability to bump your multiplier to the next level or give you a multiplier.
The multiplier system in commando 3 is fairly easy to understand. Players build a multiplier by avoiding being hit and mowing down enemies. The multiplier begins at x2 then goes to x4, x8, x16, then x24 and a suggested tactic for big points is to get a x24 multiplier then use your M-Crash ability to take out everyone on the screen, all of it being hit with a x24 multiplier.
So in conclusion Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 is a fun classic arcade shooter with a very nice graphic face lift and animation that provides tons of fun, especially with friends either on its LAN or Xbox Live feature. Leader boards will have players aiming for the next rank up, honing their bullet dodging skills to build to big multipliers, and scrambling to the nearest med kit to finish the level. So if you’re someone looking to take a break from the last big game release and go back to simpler times WotB: Commando 3 would be well worth a demo download or eight hundred Microsoft points.
