In a recent interview with IGN, David Seymour of Slant Six tackled some of the new features and news on the upcoming PS3 shooter Socom Confrontation. The full interview can be read here
- The Socom Rooms will have moderators to eliminate gltichers/cheaters.
- As previously reported, custom games will be Unranked, this eliminates rank ups.
- The Sixaxis will be able to control leans.
- New matching system will help newer players to the series, find someone with their current skill level.
- You will also be able to throw gernades with Sixaxis.
- All new game engine/cover system.
- Sprinting system for the first time in a Soom game.
- Longer draw distances, which should create some intense sniper battles.
- No Vehicles
- Map, weapons, characters rumored for DLC.
- Integration with Home is heavily rumored, but they didn’t go into detail on this.
- New Bluetooth headset will come with retail version of game.
- The headset will have noise cancellation, and accurate voice recognition.
- Slant Six has confirmed that they are taking the Socom 2 approach to the maps. Much to the delight to the veterans of the series.
- It has been confirmed 3 classic maps will be returning.
