Thanks to "Madden Mondays" over at Gamestop’s blog, we’re being provided with a small feature within Madden each week. This week’s feature is user celebrations, and whether you love or hate the players that do them, we all love showboating when we’re scoring a TD against a friend.
Madden 2009 will feature endzone hotspots that will let players do certain player or team celebrations based on which area of the endzone they happen to be in. For Terrell Owens fans, you’ll be happy to know that he’ll already have around 10 celebrations plugged into his arsenal already.
"Not only will unique players have unique celebrations, but different "Hot Spots" in the end zone will feature different celebrations, as well, like dunking over the goal post or hot-shotting in the corner of the end zone. Specific stadiums will even feature their own local celebrations. Can you say, "Lambeau Leap?" We’ve also been told that an extra "hidden" control will let you steal an opponent’s celebration so you can really rub it in. However, you’ll have to discover that one on your own."
With the 20th anniversary of Madden happening this year, it’s nice to see the folks over at EA take charge and produce a few fun features to help fans enjoy the game even more. We just hope that they’re stepping their game up even more on the field to keep fans happy, and not just throwing perfume on a pig.
The No Fun League is actually letting this happen? If only we could see college fans storming the field in NCAA 2009. We can dream, can’t we? We’ll see you next Monday with the next revealed feature.
