For the longest time, FIFA games didn’t have the vanishing spray that referees use for free kicks. That will all change in FIFA 16 with the inclusion of that special referee spray. For the longest time, it has sat at the top of many FIFA 16 wishlists and it seems EA Sports has finally decided to include it.
Vanishing spray is used to prevent the defensive team from encroaching closer than 10 yards during free kicks. It is also used to prevent the attacking team from moving the ball closer instead of at the spot that the referee awarded the free kick.
The screenshot above shows the vanishing spray being applied in FIFA 16.
FIFA 16 will be released on September 22nd in the United States, September 24th in the EU and Australia, and September 25th in the UK. It will be available on the XBOX One, PlayStation 4, XBOX 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
Along with the vanishing spray, we have all kinds of new additions to look forward to this year. Here is a full list of the new features in FIFA 16 as well as a gameplay trailer courtesy of EA Sports.
