‘World of Starcraft’ MMO finally launched over Battle.Net

Starcraft Universe

It’s been a long time coming, but the World of Starcraft MMO has officially launched. The mod was initially created as World of Starcraft back in 2011 and created quite the controversy with Blizzard.

After discussions, concessions, and the eventual agreement between Blizzard and creative director Ryan Winzen, the game is now known as Starcraft Universe: Chronicles of Fate. If you own a copy of Starcraft II, you’ll be able to play this mod and participate in multiplayer raids similar to what you’ll find in World of Warcraft. The maps for the mod are custom built, and you’ll be able to find it by searching “Universe” under Arcade.

Within Chronicles of Fate, players can choose from eight classes, all of which are customizable. Looking for mounted and vehicle combat? That’s available too. Best yet, the mod is not region-locked, like some, so you’ll be able to download and play it regardless of where you’re located.

When not writing for the site, you can find Dougie on Xbox Live & Playstation Network (Gamertag: AirUpThere06). He plays just about everything, but loves a good shooter with a great multiplayer experience.
