Rumor: Monster Hunter handheld games exclusive to 3DS for three years

Monster Hunter is taking up a large chunk of the rumor mill today. First off a rumor from Japanese magazine Gamelab stating that Monster Hunter 4 would be released simultaneously on Nintendo 3DS and Playstation Vita, apparently the cause for it’s delay. That particular rumor has now been debunked by Capcom however, with Capcom Senior Vice-P Christian Svensson saying “I would not believe everything you read on the internet. It will set you up for disappointment or misdirected frustration.”

Another rumor has popped up, that could possibly explain the reason for this. Coming from a source with a good track record, having previously leaked the arrival of Monster Hunter 3 on 3DS. In a post on the gaming section of the TGFC Club message board from 2011, this same user seemingly called the Dragon Quest VII remake for 3DS a full year before it was announced. In that same post they talk about a deal between Nintendo and Capcom which would see handheld Monster Hunter games coming exclusively to the 3DS for the next three years.

Capcom is yet to comment on this rumor.

3ds is just such a bland system.
Too bad Vita is so expensive (mainly cause memory cards) it’s way better.

3DS is “bland”? have you ever owned one? both are fun too play around, but the sheer number of great games available in 3DS makes it a better choice to own right now. For the record I own both, and the only game worth playing in my vita are only gravity rush and P4.. I completely despise sony’s tactic of republishing games available for PS3 in vita. That should be a feature, not the main selling point.
