Those of you who had an issue accessing your cloud stored game saves over this past month have just been given a free month of Xbox Live Gold due to the outage. Over on Major Nelson‘s blog, Alex Garden general manager at Xbox Live, apologized for the inconvenience.

It took longer than we expected to get back to full performance as we needed to ensure the integrity of everyone’s game saves. . .we sincerely apologize for the delay and inconvenience.
Great news for those who were unable to game over the holiday season, but there’s no reason to call Xbox Live support and beg them to apply the free month to your account. “We know exactly who was affected and we’ll handle all of this on our end,” said Major Nelson.
