For those of you who haven’t logged on to Assassin’s Creed III lately, now might be the time to do so. Ubisoft is set to begin the third multiplayer event, Deadly Shadows, and is going to need as many people as possible to reach the community goal. As always, the event has three separate challenges: community, individual, and participation. For simply participating and completing a game in the event playlist you’ll unlock yourself a special title as a thanks for playing. The individual award is another unique relic which you can only unlock during this event. During the previous two events, Ubisoft released two Abstergo videos when the community goal was met, not a huge incentive to play for some. This time around, however, you’re going to want to get in on the action, if the goal is met, Ubisoft will add new night time versions for some of the  maps you’ve come to know and love.

Ubisoft stresses that you must be playing in the event playlist,

The important thing to know is that there are only access two ways to access the event. Either by selecting “Events” in the main menu, or by creating a “”Custom Match”” and selecting the Event as “”Game Category””. Whatever you will be doing in the other modes won’t be taken into account towards progression for event objectives.

It’s worth noting that in game the event is said to start tomorrow but Ubisoft has said that it’s to start on January 2nd. Regardless, this is an event you don’t want to miss. See you in the colonies.

Dillon has been writing for almost half a decade now and has slowly worked himself up the ladder. At one point he single-handedly covered PAX East and E3. (Yeah, he's kind of awesome.) The staff might still consider him a baby, but you can find him and his witty sarcasm on Twitter @Kamikaze8.
