The first images for The Phantom Pain, a mysterious new IP revealed at this year’s Video Game Awards, have been posted by the game’s developer.
So, the whole story on this project is pretty crazy right now. Moby Dick Studios, a Stockholm, Sweden-based developer, is supposedly behind this fresh project, but all signs point to The Phantom Pain as being just a guise for Metal Gear Solid 5. First, the official website lists Joakim Mogren as its CEO. Not only have we never heard of the name, but Joakim is an acronym for Kojima.
The one-armed character also bears a striking resemblance to Snake, which can be seen in the images provided. The fact that Konami VIPs were sporting shirts branded with the game at the VGAs doesn’t help keep the secret very quiet, either.
But, we’ll just have to wait for the Metal Gear man himself to deliver the definite news.
What do you think about all these images? Can you find further proof of this being a Metal Gear game? Let us know what you think by leaving a comment below!
