The Crimson Map Pack for 343 Industries’ Halo 4 is available for purchase now, but a slew of users on the Halo Waypoint forums are finding that they can download the content for free.

Those who bought either the Season Pass or Limited Edition were expected to grab the new content off of Xbox Live for no charge, but reports of the content being free for everyone are beginning to surface. The forum user Mafia Octavia seems to be one of the first people to notice this oversight.

“My brother is able to download the map pack for free even though he uses a separate Xbox and never bought the season pass or the limited edition,” the post reads.

343 has yet to comment on this issue, but expect some more information soon. While the content is available for free, we’re a bit weary to download it at this point. We doubt that Microsoft would ban your console if it’s an error on their part, but we’d recommend that you use caution on this scenario.

Are you able to download this content for free? If so, do you think  you’ll be able to keep it? Let us know what you think by leaving a comment below!
