IO Interactive’s Hitman: Absolution may only be a week old, but fresh concept art for the next project in the franchise has already hit the internet.
Schaffi Games discovered the above image created by Square Enix art director Rasmus Poulsen and senior concept artist Leonid Enin. Spawned live at the Montreal International Game Summit held earlier this month, the picture is centered on a character that, at a quick glance, doesn’t seem to be series staple Agent 47. What that means for the direction of this new game is still unknown.
What we do know is that Absolution developer IO Interactive will not be heading this particular project. Square Enix Montreal will be the creative force behind the next big thing in the series.
“It’s like with Treyarch and Infinity Ward. You have an IP that has been developed. They will feed off each other, as well as some things that stand out,” Hitman: Absolution director Tore Blystad said. “I think with these big franchises, it takes a long time to develop just one game. If you can, work a little bit in parallel at least, and help each other out.”
We probably won’t hear much on this game anytime soon, but for now, just be happy with the very early art.
