It’s cool that Gearbox’s upcoming Aliens: Colonial Marines is coming to the Wii U but how come Borderlands 2 isn’t? You’d think that game would work really well on it. But Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford said they didn’t have a crazy enough idea for the GamePad.
Speaking with NintendoEverythingNintendoEverything, Pitchford talked about how they couldn’t think of anything for the GamePad that would warrant a Wii U version of the game. Check out his quote:
“We get asked if there is going to be a Wii U version of Borderlands, and the reason why there’s not is because we couldn’t think of a natural, obvious, ‘OMG, I want that for what the Wii U brings to the table’ feature.”
But when it comes to Aliens, it heightens tension and the ability to have the motion scanner in your hands will make everything more immersive. I still think that maybe porting Borderlands 2 to the Wii U just for having the inventory on a second screen would be neat for gun-switching. But having already played a little of Aliens at PAX, it’ll be a nicely horrifying experience on the Wii U.
Are you bummed Borderands 2 isn’t coming to the Wii U? Let us know in the comments or post in the forums.
