Rumor: Darrelle Revis tweets picture of the Playstation 4

Darrelle Revis

When you think of console reveals or potential console reveals, you rarely think about NFL players having doing that honor. Today, Darrelle Revis of the New York Jets tweeted out a picture that’s stirring a ton of controversy.

While Revis is out for the rest of the season, it appears that he managed to get his hands on a picture of a supposed Playstation 4. The image appears to be fairly detailed and shows a panel on the side that references various aspects of the system or online play. The panel showcases how many controllers are connected, messages for the PSN, and even the amount of friends that are on the Playstation Network.

It’s an interesting image, but we have a strong feeling that it’s fake. Out of all the sources that a new system could be leaked by, we highly doubt that Darrelle Revis would be the one to reveal it.

There’s a disc sticking out of the system which we can’t identify at this point. Seeing a disc within the image helps lend less credibility as these are essentially glamour shots that appears to be from concept design.

Still, the image has received over 1,000 retweets without any request for Revis to pull down the image. We have yet to see any Sony officials comment on the image, but we would expect to see something be stated within the very near future.

What do you think about the supposed image of the Playstation 4? Be sure to let us know what you think by leaving us a comment below, or discuss the Playstation 4 in our forums.

Thanks for the tip, Jake!

When not writing for the site, you can find Dougie on Xbox Live & Playstation Network (Gamertag: AirUpThere06). He plays just about everything, but loves a good shooter with a great multiplayer experience.
