‘Black Ops 2’ double XP now available on all platforms

In case you were hiding earlier this week, Activision and Treyarch released the highly anticipated title Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. In celebration of the release of the game, all platforms for the game will be receiving double XP all weekend.

In order to participate you’ll need to ensure that you’ve downloaded your copy of Nuketown 2025. All pre-orders of the game, and the majority of day-one purchases, include a copy of the popular map. Upon downloading the map for your game, all matches you play this weekend will net you double XP.

Rather than showcase the XP within the game, you’ll receive your double XP after the match has completed. The reason for this method is because of the addition of scorestreaks in the title. If gamers were to receive double XP within the match, scorestreaks would run rampant and would ultimately break the current structure of the title.
