Located on Sweden’s west coast, Gothenburg is the home of newly named EA development studio, Ghost.
Formerly EA Gothenburg, Ghost chose the city of Gothenburg because of “the plethora of highly talented game developers that can be found in that part of Sweden and its southern regions,” according to their website. Gothenburg has a population of about one million people in their metropolitan area and about half a million in the city itself.
No word on what Ghost is currently working on other than mentioning earlier this year that, under the name EA Gothenburg, they were working on an a Need for Speed title, but their outlook seems positive noting that they have “all the agility and creativity of a ‘start-up’, while working with industry giants like Criterion and DICE” to backup whatever it is they end up developing.
It will be interesting to see what they announce first. Do you think it we’ll be seeing a new IP from EA? Maybe Ghost will continue developing that Need for Speed title. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below or head over to the forums and chat about it.
