Some eager gamers waited in line for hours to pick up their fresh, new copy of Black Ops II, but sadly, one of the discs they received may not have been what they expected.
PC players who decided they wanted to pick up a retail copy rather than buy the product digitally have been reporting an issue with the second disc. Instead of seeing the multiplayer features of Treyarch’s latest Call of Duty game, a disc read error for EA’s Mass Effect 2 appears.
Yes, you read that correctly. It’s not happening to all PC copies out there, but a bunch of Steam and Reddit users are being pretty vocal about this interesting mix-up. No publisher or developer is saying anything about it at the moment, but if the issue is widespread, expect a few steps to be taken by Activision to fix things.
Here’s just one video of an upset player with the error.
