Looks like you won’t be measuring how awesome you did by getting 1000/1000 on the Wii U. Jeremiah Slaczka of 5th Cell posted on NeoGAF about how Nintendo’s Wii U won’t have an achievement system across all game, similar to Xbox 360 or PS3’s Trophy system.
Slaczka said that while they don’t have system-wide ones, developers can decide on their own if they want implement their own system. Once again, Nintendo is letting third parties do whatever they please with the system. 5th Cell are using their own system for Scribblenauts Unlimited
This might be a bummer to some of you who love achievements as a measuring stick for how amazing you are at dying 50 times. But some people use it as a social stat to compare with friends. We’ll see how bigger games like Assassin’s Creed III utilize the system.
