While the Playstation Store is often criticized for being a bit bland compared to what Steam or Xbox Live offer, all of that is set to change next week. Well, it was set to change next week.
Sony has made an announcement that the update of the Playstation Store will not be available in North America, Brazil & Mexico as previously planned on October 23rd. While the update has rolled out smoothly in Australia, New Zealand, and other European countries, the update has seen a few issues that are inconveniencing users.
While we’ve already solved many of these issues, we’ve decided to postpone the October 23rd launch of the new store in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil. We want to be certain that you have an exceptional experience with the new store, so we appreciate your patience as we complete the final phases before launch.
As they work to iron out these issues, most of which they say they already have, Sony will be pushing back the update for just a bit longer. Looking to use the Playstation Store for demos or purchases? Don’t worry, the existing store as you currently know it will remain functional until the update is ready.
