Whatever the next Mass Effect game ends up being, it won’t feature Commander Shepard as its protagonist. That’s according to BioWare Montreal producer Fabrice Condominas, who recently spoke with VG247 about the future of the Mass Effect franchise.
Condominas was fairly definitive, stating “There is one thing we are absolutely sure of – there will be no more Shepard, and the trilogy is over.” It sounds like BioWare are still very much in the planning stages, with Condominas admitting that “…we don’t even know what kind of time frame we’re going to be in. All we’re doing is more gathering ideas from the teams, gathering feedback to see several things.”
What would you like to see from a new Mass Effect game? Should it focus on something from the established lore or try to tackle the world after the events Mass Effect 3? Let us know in the comments, or hit up the forums.
