Call of Duty Elite, the popular add-on for the Call of Duty series, has received a great announcement this morning. Gamers that intend on picking up Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be delighted to learn that the Elite service will be entirely free.
All features and functionality that were previously present via Elite will be available to you at no additional cost. However, the downloadable content that was previously included in the service has been removed and replaced with a “Season Pass”.
For $49.99, the same price we saw last year with the Premium features included, gamers will receive four pieces of downloadable content that include zombie & multiplayer maps. Don’t want the season pass? You can still purchase each piece of DLC separately at full cost, but it’ll cost you more long-term than buying the Season Pass.
What do you think about Elite going free and the Season Pass for the DLC? Be sure to let us know what you think by leaving us a comment below, or discuss Call of Duty in our forums.
