Fans of the Playstation Vita have been looking forward to the release of a Call of Duty title since the original announcement. However, Activision has confirmed something rather large for the upcoming handheld release: there will be no zombies.
The popular mode where you’re able to slay the undead will miss the Vita version of the game this year. Instead, Activision is releasing a Hostiles mode where you battle against waves of enemies that are alive and kicking. Dan Amrich of Activision released the following statement regarding the decision of the company:
Declassified will offer a Hostiles Mode, which challenges you to defeat waves of enemies, but alas, those enemies are not shambling corpses. So we’ll see what the future brings for Zombies, but for Declassified, it’s an MP focus first and foremost.
It’s a little disappointing to see that the popular mode won’t be included in the first version of the game on the Vita, but it seems like Hostiles will at least be similar. If the mode wasn’t ready for the Vita, then we applaud Activision on focusing on the multiplayer to deliver a solid experience.
