Capcom’s Resident Evil 6, which has been seeing mixed reviews since the embargo lifted earlier this week, has shipped more copies than any other game in the company’s history.
An estimated 4.5 million units of the zombie-infested shooter have been sent off to retailers, which, to be clear, is not an actual report of games sold. The figures are related to retail demand, but Capcom expects to sell 7 million copies by the end of the first quarter of 2013.
Resident Evil 6 is out now on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
